Remote Sharing & Control
LaiCai lets you share a device group with any LaiCai user by email. The recipient can then view or control those devices remotely — without needing a physical connection.
📋
Before You Start
- Both the sharer and the recipient must be signed in to a LaiCai account.
- The devices you want to share must already be added to a device group.
- A stable internet connection is required on both sides.
Part 1 — Share Your Devices
Start sharing a device group with another user and manage who has access.
01
Open the Share Dialog
- In the device group toolbar, click the button.
- The Share Group dialog opens, showing the group name and how many devices it contains.
💡 You must be signed in to use the share feature.
02
Add a Recipient
- Click Add in the Shared Users list.
- Enter the recipient's LaiCai account email address.
- Select which machine (computer) of theirs will receive access — shown after you enter a valid email.
- Choose a Permission: Control lets them interact with the phone; View Only lets them watch only.
- Optionally set a date range to automatically expire the access.
- Click Add to confirm. The recipient appears in the Shared Users list.
💡 You can add multiple recipients before starting. Each can have a different permission level.
03
Start Sharing
- Click Start Sharing to activate the sharing session.
- The status indicator in the title bar turns green — recipients can now connect.
- To stop, click Stop Sharing. All recipients are disconnected immediately.
- To remove a specific user, click Revoke next to their entry, or click Refresh to reload the list.
Part 2 — Access a Shared Device
Switch to the Remote tab to see and connect to devices that others have shared with you.
04
Switch to the Remote Tab
- Click the Remote tab at the top of the device list panel.
- The panel shows Remote Groups — groups that other users have shared with you.
- Check that the Signaling Status shows connected. If it shows disconnected, check your internet connection and try again.
💡 Each shared group shows the owner's email, your permission level, and the expiry time if one was set.
05
Connect to a Remote Device
- Click on a remote group to expand it and see its devices.
- Devices that are online show a Connect button. Offline devices are grayed out.
- Click Connect on a device. The connection status changes to connecting → connected.
- Once connected, the device screen appears in the main view — ready to view or control.
💡 You can click the group-level ▶ button to connect to all online devices in the group at once.
06
Control the Remote Device
- If your permission is Control, you can click, swipe, type, and use all input methods just like a local device.
- If your permission is View Only, you can see the screen but input is blocked.
- Click Disconnect on the device (or ■ on the group) when you are done.
💡
Tips
- Right-click a shared group or device to rename it locally — this does not affect the sharer's setup.
- Access expiry is enforced server-side; you will be disconnected automatically when the time limit is reached.
- The sharer can stop sharing at any time, which immediately disconnects all recipients.
