Swipe

Drags from a start point to an end point while the key is held. Releases the drag when the key is released.

Best for: dodge rolls, camera drags, directional flicks, and any gesture requiring a sustained drag.

01

Create the swipe mapping

Open Input Mapping and change Mapping Behavior from Touch to Swipe. In the video, the mapping is named Move Right and Input Source is set to the D key on the keyboard.

02

Choose a Swipe mode

  • Swipe Once performs one swipe per key press. Even if you keep holding the key, the finger leaves the screen after reaching the end point.
  • Hold Drag keeps the drag active while the key is held and releases it only when you release the key.
03

Set the start and end points

Add the mapping and turn on Show Mapping Layer. A line with two points appears: place one at the swipe start and the other at the end, then turn the mapping layer off.

04

Test the gesture and feedback

Press D to test the mapping. Turn on Show Feedback and press D again to see Swipe Once run once. Change the mode to Hold Drag and the character keeps moving while D is held, then stops when it is released.

🎮

Use Move Stick for a virtual joystick

Character movement is used only to demonstrate the two Swipe modes. For a real game virtual joystick, use the dedicated Move Stick behavior. Basic Swipe is intended for one-time swipe and drag gestures.
